Disciple 21-Asbury Seminary Church Planting Boot Camp

This event was co-sponsored by Disciple 21, the Asbury Church Planting Initiative, and the Lexington District of the United Methodist Church to encourage potential planters in the strategies, disciplines, and practices necessary to be successful 21st-century church planters.
Main Presenters
Dr. Winfield Bevins is Director of Church Planting at Asbury Seminary. He has a passion to equip others for mission in a post-Christendom context. As a seasoned practitioner, he has helped plant churches and has been instrumental in launching several church planting networks. He has trained leaders from around the world and frequently speaks at conferences, churches, and seminaries on a variety of topics. He is the author of numerous books including Global Voices: Stories of Church Planting from Around the World, Marks of a Movement, and Church Planting Revolution. He is the co-founder Missional Formation Coaching is designed to help leaders thrive by promoting healthy rhythms that connect spiritual and missional practices. Dr. Iosmar Alvarez emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba. When he arrived in the U.S. in 2001, God called him to lead and serve among the Hispanic people. He has served as the senior pastor of Fuente de Avivamiento in Lexington, Ky., CEO of Disciple 21 Church Planting Network, and is now the District Superintendent in Lexington, Ky. He is a certified coach and recently earned his doctorate at Asbury Seminary. His goal is to plant 2500 churches by 2028, using traditional and non-traditional methods, to make disciples for Christ.
